Here is an article from Cornell U., so they are for real. Invasive Asian Jumping Earthworms
Seems I remember in the notice I got, it said cutting them in pieces will not kill them, but if I remember right, each piece will grow into another full sized worm. I don't know that I have them here yet, but do recall in that article, they have been found in Indiana, and western Ohio. So I guess it's just a matter of time.
