A couple of years ago I planted Borage in my back garden because my bees enjoy it so very much. Since then the Borage has been taking over and has grown roots the size of my forearm.
Outside of digging it out, is there any other way to kill the thing without harming the back garden?

vinegar on a long hot week that is dry.pour it at the base of the plant/s and it will kill the plant. the effect will also go away at the first water/rain.
the reason for a long hot dry week. that insures the plant dies. then you can water again and it won't matter.
