Here are two recipes from the back yard problem solver by Jerry Baker. I’m preparing the ambrosia today.
Ant Ambrosia – 4-5 tbsp cornmeal, 3 tsbp bacon grease, 3 tbsp baking powder and 3 packages of baker’s yeast.
Mix the cornmeal and bacon grease into a paste and then add the baking powder and yeast. Dab the gooey mix on the sides of jar lids and set them near ant hills. The pesky critters will love it to death!
Ant Control Tonic - 1 cup of sugar, 3 cups of water, 1 tbsp of boric acid powder.
Add the sugar to the water and bring to a boil. Add the boric acid.. place the mix in jar lids and set them in the middle of ant trails or near ant hills.
