The bottoms of my red and yellow bell peppers are being eaten by something. The only insects I see are grasshoppers -- several of them at a time. I have seen birds take an interest in the plants but have seen only the occasional bird anywhere near them. Could the grasshoppers be eating the peppers? The grasshoppers are brownish in color and a good 2 inches long. If so, how do I make the plants less attractive to the grasshoppers?

Here's an interesting video on You Tube for organic control. I had them bad last year when is was so dry and they raced the Japanese Beetles to see who could do the most leaf damage. I've only seen a few this season.
