hi everyone, my name is don, aka The Bot. I live in Louisiana in zone 8,9. We have six acres with three horses, This was my first attempt at a small garden, i will try to post some pics over next few days. i planted some tomatoes, cucunbers, zucinni, and squash, one water melon.
well i learned next time need more space, especially for cucumbers,lol. they are doing well and strangling everything lol.... so next time they need to be by themselves with a tressle to climb up lol. the zucinni did really well despite being strangled by cucumbers lol. so far only got two nice zucinni though. i think the yellow squash just got squeezed out cus it only made one little squash.
same with cantelope,,,might have been too late for this as it only made one fruit not sure.
now my biggest question is about tomatoes. the plants grew really well but then turned yellow. two things here,
1. had them too close to a window air unit blowing hot dry air on em.
2. over fed them. food spilled and i tried to get it but sure they were over fed.
i am sure you all can tell me why they are turning yellow and what i am doing wrong. this has been such good therapy.
