I hope I'm in the right place. This is my intro. I'm in zone 8, I grew up farming at my grandparents who lived in sunny southern CA. We could grow anything. I'm now in the NW and have a limited season but lots of variety. I garden in my back yard. I use the square foot method and some traditional. My attitude is I can grow anything until proven otherwise. This year I planted greens in the fall and ate them all winter. I grow everything except mellows and corn. Just not enough prolonged sun for melons and not enough room for corn.

I used to live up in the Seattle area and gardened there as well. Yes, the growing season was a bit more limited and some things that required sustained heat and sun just didn't do well, but it sure was a great climate for things like peas, lettuce, root veggies, beans, etc. I'm now in So. Oregon where we get much more heat so I can expand my gardening line-up a bit.

Good to have you here!
