Good Morning, Gardening World! This is the first time I've ever joined an online gardening forum and I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can.
My name is Karen, I've been gardening since the 11th grade, if you don't count my foray into growing grass by using rock salt to improve the growth rate. I was in the 1st grade, not the sharpest trowel for digging weeds that's for sure, and my mom was definitely not too happy about my attempt at fertilizing the freshly laid grass seed. tee hee. Hey, win some lose some.
I'm 52, a mom to 3 and a grandma to 5, married for 33 years. I live in zone 7 on the East coast of the U.S. I love to vegetable garden, and grow flowers, especially any that I can cut and bring inside.
Finally, I'm very interested in expanding my knowledge of vegetable gardening. In particular, I would like to have a better grasp of getting a new garden up and running from run down lawn space.
