My name is Lynne and I am new here.
I live in beautiful Hawkes Bay in New Zealand (at the southern end of the Pacific Ocean). The city where I live is known for its predominantly mediterranean climate - I'm not sure what zone that equates to. I've always had pretty flower gardens, but since moving into a new home I have decided to have a go at vegetable gardening. I have one raised wooden bed which I am slowly preparing ready for planting in our spring (we are entering winter here in the Southern Hemisphere). We are in a rental so, apart from the vegetable garden, I am putting cuttings and small grade shrubs, trees and perennials to avoid spending a lot of money that I can't afford.
Vege gardening is going to be a huge learning curve for me so any advice will be gratefully received.

It's nice to have you here! Since we are entering our gardening season here in the States, hopefully that'll get your excited for your spring gardening! Are you able to do cool weather crops during your winter?
