Hot wall!

186 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Bud B.
I have a west facing bed about 24” x 15’. It is against the house wall. It gets quite hot in the summer. Any ideas on what to grow there. I am open to anything edible.

Welcome......Good to have you here.
A west wall would get pretty hot sun in the afternoon and evening. You would want things that can take the heat and would have to keep them well watered. In my area, tomatoes and peppers really like the heat. Being up north, the season is a lot shorter than yours, so it is a bit of a challenge.
I have this app on my phone. It is quite handy when it comes to hot/cold crops, when to plant etc...

Welcome Dave!
I think I would plant some Peppers in that location, but it depends on where you are located. Give us a bit more specific info and we will try to help you.
