Hi All! My name is Mona and I'm growing my very first ever garden, of any kind! I'm a single mom of a 15.5 year old son, and an unemployed special education teacher. I also make glass beads and jewelry. I live in a little town in the Sierras called Arnold, at about 5000 feet elevation. I'm growing my entire garden in containers on my deck. I've got peas, beans, summer squash, pear tomatoes, bush cherry tomatoes, swiss chard, spinach, green onions, cucumbers, baby watermelons, rainbow bell peppers, carrots, thyme, sage, basil, oregano, parsley, cilantro, and broccoli. I'm using some pretty cool containers (like bird cages) and can't wait until I can harvest!

Good for you Mona! I'd love to see a pic of the bird cage planters! Keep going. You will be so satisfied.
