I was doing my garden check this morning and noticed that the stalks of my garlic is splitting open. I pulled one out of the ground to check the bulb and the bulb looks good. There are little bulbs of garlic growing out of the stalk. They smell so good and are a pretty purple and white color! I can't wait to try them. Is this normal? Should I harvest my garlic early so I don't lose the crop? We are having so much rain in Illinois this season. Could that be the reason?
