My name is Quantella and I have watched my grandmother plant fruits and vegetables in her garden as a little girl. I want badly to start my own garden. I'm a preschool teacher whose desire to garden was jump started by a class study on gardens and worms. I live in a suburb outside of chicago, Illinois. We have cold winters and hot summers. My favorite seasons are spring and fall.

I want to grown so many things. I love kale, mustard and collard greens. I want to grow tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers. There are so many vegetables I want to grow, I can't begin to list them all. I worry about the rabbits and deers in my community. I am searching for ways to protect my garden from wildlife before I begin planting. I am excited I found this new family of gardeners and hope to learn as much as I can. I can't wait to start

perfect spot to have a garden, raised beds keep bunnies at bay and a motion sensing sprinkler will keep the deer out. I have deer that take naps in my back yard area and nibble on my roses up against the house. bunnys yes we have them but never see them around my yard thank goodness.
welcome to the forum quantella..we don't have rabbits around my yard but i did see some deer at the end of my driveway last year...so far they have not bothered anything...just scoping out the area..lol..hope they go somewhere else....good luck with your garden.
