I have been flower gardening for 30+ years, but this is only my 2nd year having a vegetable garden. Last year we had a few $50 tomatoes, but this year we have a huge crop! We used calcium nitrate around the base of each plant and it seems to have improved everything. We are in for several 100+ degree days, so any advice on how to keep our plants healthy would be welcomed.

Welcome elizahines!

We are quite the opposite. I have been vegetable gardening for years, but would love to improve my flower gardening skills. Right now I have a very nice hydrangea in my front yard that seems to impress me every year and an unknown flowering plant in my backyard that I am trying to solve here on the forum. I look forward to swapping some great ideas with you.

Happy Gardening!
