Hello, everyone!
I'm Mackenzie, and I've been gardening for about three years now. I started gardening when my little brother got some tomato plants for mother's day, and my mother didn't plant them. I decided to take things into my own hands. I built a trench, and planted them, not knowing exactly what I was doing. Days went by, and the tomato plants started growing. I gave them the good old TLC, talking to them occasionally. Trust me, they like that--I'm not crazy! Anyway, I didn't knwo what I was getting myself into, but it was a great turnout. My grape tomatoes grew to the size of large cherries, and they were incredibly succulent and juicy; you could taste the sunlight in them.
The rest, as they say, is history. I started up a compost pile, made rich dark soil, and started planting my vegetables from the seeds. Store bought tomato plants turned into watermelon and cucumber seedlings, sugar snap peas, cantaloupe seeds... I continued to grow my garden, and I am growing beautiful, lovely plants. Even though I am young (sixteen), I am a fast learner and I have a natural green thumb. My mother rents our house, so I don't get to completely change the yard, but I do what I can. I give the landlord some vegetables so he doesn't complain!
I guess that's it. I'm excited to meet new people and learn their tricks, as well as giving my own secrets away. I'll post pictures of my harvest!
