I was always of the impression that unless you were planting or buying organic corn, then it was GMO corn. But a couple of large farms in our area that sell their sweet corn are stating that although their corn is not organic, it's also not GMO corn.

is that possible?

yes it is possible, you can buy hybrid seeds that are not gmo. Most corn that is gmo is a field corn used in animal feeds and in fillers for processed food or corn oil. the same goes for beets that are GMO those are sugar beets used to making sugar with and the left over is then processed into animal feed. so you white sugars are more than likely GMO.
