they are not locust but cadadi's I know that not right spelling. They wont hurt your crops just your eardrums. Happens every 17 years.

This is the year of the Locust ... Should gardeners 'wait' until the passing to sow seeds or what?

cicada...i used to wonder what it was that was making all the noise in the summer...someone told me it was the transformers on the telephone poles...lol...i beleived this for years until last summer...we were camping and the cicadas were buzzing so loudly they were almost hurting my ears..so i searched them on the internet...an interesting little bug, but very annoying.
