I grow some leafy vegs in my backyard, the main pests are caterpillars & snails. I don't use chemicals so only netting can keep out the caterpillars. Even then it is unavoidable to have holes in leaves, not sure how farmers grow vegs on a commercial scale. Vegetables in supermarket/shop have zero holes & 10/10 in color, shape & everything, I would think farmers use quite a bit pesticides, even if guildline say its within safe level ?

Welcome....Yes, I would imagine that commercial growers use the chemicals pretty heavily. That's why we like to grow our own way and know what we are getting. I see you are down under...Here in Canada, bugs are less of an issue.

Thank you. That's the reason I grow my own, but still need to buy most veggies unfortunately.
