I'm growing pole beans this year for the first time and was really getting discouraged because they were vining and growing all over the place, but NO blossoms! Could not figure out what the problem was. Finally last night when I was watering, I noticed several blossoms starting to emerge! yay!!!

I've got my fingers crossed for you! I can't grow a bean to save my life. After 3 years I gave up.

beans are normally what does best for me! two summers ago, I canned 50 jars of beans (in addition to eating some fresh too). Last year, none! I don't have as many pole beans planted as when I do bush beans, but I'm hoping they are more productive (my moms are at least) so I can still get about 30 or so cans of beans out of them. That'll last us about a year.

that's a lot of beans! Very impressive. I'm motivated again. I think I'll give it another go but study up before planting next year.

my peas just finished up and I pulled the vines and planted pole beans for a late fall crop. hoping it works!
