I have 2 white habanero plants that are producing peppers only slightly hotter than Jalapeno & a ghost pepper with the heat of banana pepper. they are planted in different areas & while the habanero plants are lush with 100s of peppers the ghost plant has produced several peppers that burned up (mostly gray rather than red & very thin skinned-I just tossed them) & other peppers that look perfect (fewer than 10 of them) but have no heat. we are having a Drought & record setting number of days over 100° as well as almost every day in the past 2 months has been over 90° & the night temps are also high.
